Menu Bar

The menu bar includes the following options:

  • Process menu manage process diagrams, i.e. create new models, print, deploy.
  • Edit menu select, cut, copy and paste shapes.
  • View menu manage how much you can see of the model.
  • Help menu application documentation.

Process Menu

Menu Option Keyboard Shortcut Description
New CTRL+ALT+N

Opens the Create New Wizard dialog with three options: Create a New Reusable Process, Create a New Model or Open an Existing Process Diagram.

Note: A warning appears when you select New from the Process menu and a model is not checked in.

You have an open model that has not been checked in. If you proceed, you will lose your changes and may lock your model. Click Yes to continue. Click No to check in or undo your changes.

New (New Tab)   Opens the Create New Wizard dialog inside a new tab.
Open CTRL+ALT+O

Opens the Open Existing Process Diagram dialog, which lists all available process models and reusable diagrams that have been checked in. Select a model or diagram and click Check Out or View. The Check Out option creates a new version and allows you to make modifications. The View option opens the model or diagram in read only mode.

Note: If you have an open model that has not been checked in, the following message displays when you select Open from the Process menu.

Open (New Tab)  

Opens the Open Existing Process Diagram dialog inside a new tab.

Note: Open a Parent and a Child diagram inside a new tab with Firefox browser will post messages to the parent diagram.

Save CTRL+ALT+S Lets you save the current process model without checking it in. For more information, see Saving Process Models.
Print CTRL+ ALT+ P Opens a Print dialog with options: Size to fit on one sheet of paper or enter Number of pages in width or height.
Check In  

Adds the currently open process model to the database. When you check in, you can optionally click the Run Validation button to make sure the model is valid against standard BPMN 2 and that the configuration is valid.

If the process is not valid, you can still successfully check it in. However, the process must pass validation before it can be deployed to any environments.

Check Out  

This option is available from the menu only if the currently open process model or diagram has been checked in. The checkout option creates a new major (2.0, 3.0, 4.0, etc.) or minor (1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc.) version of the checked in model. Any modifications you make will be applied to the new version. The original version will not be modified.

Undo Check Out  

Cancels the checkout and reverts the process model to the previous version. When you select this option, the following message appears:

The new version will be removed and all changes will be lost.

Click OK to undo the checkout.

Configure Process SLA   Allows you to set the amount of time a process can be in progress before it is considered to be in jeopardy, or at risk to be completed within the committed time interval.
Run Validation CTRL+ALT+V

Validates the configuration of the process model against the Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) specification.

Edit Menu

Menu Option Keyboard Shortcut Description
Cut Shapes CTRL+X Removes the selected objects from the drawing canvas and places them on the clipboard.
Copy Shapes CTRL+C Copies the selected objects to the clipboard.
Paste Shapes CTRL+V Adds objects from the clipboard to the drawing canvas.
Select All Shapes CTRL+A Selects all objects on the drawing canvas.

View Menu

Menu Option Keyboard Shortcut Description
Data Dictionary   Toggles view between Data Dictionary and Canvas Overview.
Zoom In CTRL+ALT++ Raise canvas magnification.
Zoom Out CTRL+ALT+- Reduce canvas magnification.
Show All   Show all shapes on the canvas.
Reset Zoom   Return canvas magnification to default setting.

Help Menu

Menu Option Description
About XTRAC Process Modeler Displays the current version of the XTRAC Process Modeler.
XTRAC Process Modeler Help Opens current user documentation.
